düsseldorf residence
Overview
A conceptual design for Yakup and Anja, a young couple who purchased a spacious two-story 1960s apartment in one of Düsseldorf’s most sought-after neighborhoods. They envisioned a refined home blending modern classic and minimalist sensibilities with subtle mid-century references.
My scope included reorganizing the floorplan and developing a cohesive material direction across both levels. Natural finishes, warm neutrals, and marble accents establish a quiet continuity, while sliding glass doors enhance flow and openness. The flexible ground floor — designed with a kitchenette and sauna — allows for independent use when rented during extended travels. The full spatial and material concept was completed before the clients continued the build independently.
